Located in the heart of Kisenyi, one of the largest slums in Kampala, Uganda, the Shule Foundation Drop-In-Center and Skills Training Program provides a safe haven for street-connected boys seeking refuge. Here, they access basic necessities such as showers, laundry facilities, and nutritious meals. We also offer counseling and educational classes in computers, English, and math, as well as practical skills training in poultry rearing, shoe and soap making, hair cutting, and nail care. Providing these essential resources and opportunities empowers young individuals to build self-sufficiency, confidence, and hope for a better tomorrow.

At the Shule Foundation Drop-In Center, our doors are never closed. Between 35 and 40 boys visit us every day. An alarming statistic reveals that boys make up a staggering 98% of the children living full-time on the streets in Kampala, making the need for our center critical.

Our Response
1. Meals, Clean Clothes, and Showers:
To combat hunger and fatigue, our center offers two nourishing meals, laundry, and shower facilities, ensuring every boy can reclaim his sense of dignity and embark on a journey of transformation.
2. Education for Every Passion:
In the face of these staggering statistics, education has become a powerful tool for change. Our English, math, arts and crafts, dance, and more classes aim to break the cycle of street life and open doors to a brighter future.
3. Holistic Healthcare:
Recognizing these boys' unique challenges, our center provides comprehensive healthcare and counseling sessions addressing physical and mental well-being.
4. Reuniting Families:
The urgency of our work is evident in our swift response to cases of missing children. Armed with just a photo, the Shule team can locate and reunite missing boys with their families within days, sometimes hours.
5. Building Trust, Changing Lives:
With an unwavering commitment to building trust, we engage with these boys, getting to know them and identifying those ready to leave the streets behind. Every day counts, and every life we touch is a step toward breaking free from the cycle of street life.
6. Skill Training Workshops:
Our skill training workshops, focusing on welding, shoe making, computers, hair cutting, and nail technology, are designed to equip these boys with the tools they need to forge a path to independence.
